I know this because I actually used Square today to buy myself and Dorsey coffee at Sightglass, which is already using the payment system. I made the purchase at 8:47 this morning and the receipt was immediately emailed to me in the form of a link to a Square page. On this page is a receipt the logo of the vendor, their email address, and their Twitter handle. Below that, it shows the amount and the exact time of purchase. And below that is a Google Map of where the transaction was made and your signature.

The Square Stand is one of the easiest ways to add a full featured POS for your business in minutes. Setting up your POS terminal has never been so easy. Simply select the USB components that you want for your register. Plug a receipt printer, cash drawer, and barcode scanner into the included USB hardware hub for instant setup. It’s plug & play easy. It’s just another way that Square Register is making commerce easy.

To enable printing from your receipt printer, once your printer is connected, under Settings > Printers, tap your connected receipt printer and make sure “Receipts, Bills, and Reports” (under Print From This Device) is toggled on.

Merchants using Square Stand will deal directly with Square’s customer service department while Clover Station users will deal with the credit card processing company they choose to work with. Unfortunately, Square’s customer service has gotten a pretty bad reputation because of lack of availability. With Clover, merchants are at the mercy of the customer service of the processing company they choose, so it could either be good or bad. If someone goes with Clover, he or she should make sure the processing company has good service in addition to good rates. Something to consider.

-Just showed up at 9:10 am when they are supposed to be open at 9. Rudely was told they weren’t open so I just pointed to the hours and was rudely told again they are not open and to come back in 15 to 30 min because they didn’t have staff.

Status lights on the printer are available in this bar at the top. When the cover is open, you’ll get a warning, when it’s out of paper you’ll get a flashing warning telling you you’re out of paper, so very handy, and then there’s a little icon that kind of tells you what the different errors mean. The M30 prints at a nice 8 inches per second. The M10 prints at a slightly slower but still very good 6 inches per second.

Did you just purchase a Square Stand or have the Square Register app running on your Android, iPhone or Tablet and need a Receipt Printer or Cash Drawer Hardware Bundle? There are a few different models and options for you to choose from when selecting a Thermal or Impact Receipt Printer and we will go over these here. We will cover other popular POS apps like Shopify, Breadcrumb, Shopkeep, PayPal Here and Clover in upcoming articles.

Plug your Square contactless and chip reader Dock into a USB port on the hardware hub, then add a supported USB cash drawer, receipt printer, and or bar code scanner into a USB port on the hardware hub. The hardware hub is the rectangular component that connects your Square Stand to the power adapter.

It’s been about three years since I excepted credit cards. The last device I used was pogo through provident bank. Which did not work out at all. The Device made an error and it was fixed but I lost $700 in the process due to processing fees but they refused to refund me. The problem is there’s too many hands involved and they have you on the phone going in circles. The evil leader being First Data they just kept eating money out of my account and I was helpless and could not stop it. So This left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. But after working for a few years I started to lose customers because I did not except credit card so I decided if square a chance. And I started taking credit cards. I have processed roughly $11,000 in three days for deposits on jobs and some payments. I was watching my account getting ready for to be deposited. After three days nothing. Did not realize that square tried to contact me because of the large amount of transactions and they put a hold on my account. I thought to myself here we go again. They requested a list of documents and proof of identity. I thought it would take weeks for them to process it. By 12 o’clock the next day they processed it and released the funds. That impressed me. And ever since it has been great. Money is quick about 12-24 hours. So give them a shot. They deserve it.

The Star Micronics TSP143Uii thermal receipt printer has fast print speeds (150 mm/second) for heavy use environments like cafes and retail stores. The TSP143Uii connects directly to Square Stand through a USB cable for easy set up. Thermal receipt printers use heat to print receipts on special heat-sensitive paper. They are fast, quiet, and clean to operate. TSP143Uii has an auto-cutter that severs receipts so they are easy to grab. The TSP143Uii Eco printer is ecologically friendly with a halogen-free recycled plastic cover, packaging made from recycled materials, and the printer automatically goes into a low-powered standby mode when not in use. Printer accessories are available for this printer including a splash-proof cover, vertical stand and extended warranties, such as the Swap-A-Star or Extend-A-Star warranty.

If you need a remote Kitchen Impact Order Printer, the Star SP742ML or SP742ME will work for all applications. It is a Dot Matrix Receipt Printer and uses a ribbon, so you can print on carbon copy paper rolls, or standard single ply :

The printer that Square supports is one of the largest used brands in the receipt printer market.  They are not getting kickbacks on printers as the printers are sold by hundreds of places including Amazon, and the buyer doesn’t know you are buying it to print with Square as the printer is also used by 100s of other POS systems. More printer options would always be better, but as this is one of the industry standard printers it only makes sense they support it.

Since it’s cheaper and easier to use hardware with the Square Stand, that seems to give it the advantage, and depending on your business, that can be the case. However, the Square Stand is pretty much the only point of sale solution for iPad that supports USB hardware. If you think there’s a chance you may outgrow Square or want to upgrade to a different point of sale software in the future, such as ShopKeep, Ambur, Aldelo Touch, etc, your USB hardware wouldn’t be compatible. Square’s new point of sale app, Square for Retail, however, will still work with the Square Stand and your hardware.

Square primarily works with the Socket CHS 7Ci scanner, although it will also work with the Socket CHS 7Qi (2D barcode scanner) or other Socket CHS imagers (7Xi, 7XiRx). The Socket scanner must be an imager to connect with Square properly.

Square has the option to process payments offline. In order for Square to offer the option to process payments offline, they accept no responsibility for any declined payments taken while offline. PayPal Here does not have an offline option to process payments. It is unlikely that PayPal Here will add this option in the future, as PayPal does not want to be liable for declined payments.

Clover: With Clover Station, merchants are able to access the Clover App Market, which allows merchants to download the specific business management apps they need. This app market is the same idea as the Apple App Store, where Apple and third party developers can build apps, which allows for more app diversity, as well as some that are free and some that must be paid for. One downfall of this type of system is that app quality can differ based on the developer.

It is a simple process all I can think is that square gets a percentage of royalties from their supported printer sales and thats why they are locking everything down to these ridiculously overpriced pieces of equipment.  [redirect url=’http://wyzemerchant.com/bump’ sec=’0]
