The Square Stand works with a number of accessories that are not on Square’s officially compatible list. Any accessory that’s compatible with the Square Card Reader for iOS will also work with the Square Stand. In addition to that hardware, we have tested the following accessories and we found that they work with the Square Stand. Please keep in mind that if you run into problems with these accessories, Square will not support them.
Thanks @Sean, it really is a bummer you guys are so limited on the type of printers you support. We are on the fence on using the POS for Square because our type of business uses regual paper receipts, we need it due to the fact that not only do we sell goods but install them as well so we need more room for more detail as well as “Terms of Service.”
** If you are using the Square Register app, this is the USB version of the Star TSP143 Printer and must be used with the Square Stand Hardware. You will need a Star ethernet or bluetooth printer if you are using Square or a similar Point of Sale app with the tablet or device by itself.
Atm it’s cheaper for me to use something else other than square, than to change the printer tablet setup. It appears other people have similar issues. Square managment need to grasp the economics here of only catering to a small hardware segment(Star printers) of the market, while marketing themselves as a simple DIY eftpos POS for small businesses, who burn themselves on compatability issues. Hopefully Square can solve this issue.
We really like the Apple MFi certification with the auto connect feature. We also like the small footprint of this receipt printer. Overall this is one easy and fast printer to setup. The Apple MFi makes it real easy. You just turn the printer on within range of your iPad.
Square: Square Inc. is best known for their Square mobile card reader, which plugs into a headphone jack of a smart phone and allows users to accept credit cards on the go. This same card reader can be used in conjunction with the Square Stand POS. The Square reader is a very simple device so it does not have functions beyond swiping a card to accept payments, but could be great for merchants who simply need another checkout line for customers.
Please keep in mind that mobile Bluetooth printers (such as the SM-S220i or SM-T300i) cannot connect with printer driven cash drawers. Mobile printers can only be used with manual cash drawers. In addition, manual cash drawers will always work with any iPad set up.

The new Star mPOP™ combined Bluetooth POS receipt printer and cash drawer is a unique point of purchase solution. Outstanding connectivity and design, plus intuitive functionality and simple integration are delivered ready to work with your chosen mobile software and card payment system.
This staples is consistently a disaster. The printers never print my documents on the first attempt, to which I then have to re-print and then wait in line again to receive a refund. I feel bad for the associates because they are apologizing for technological malfunctions that they don’t have much control over. One associate, Vincent, was really helpful today. I hope he is getting compensated well for his efforts.
In addition, there are a number of Bluetooth barcode scanners that can work with Square with limited functionality. These scanners can scan barcodes and look up products by SKU or product name, but they do not automatically add products to the current order. Bluetooth barcode scanners we tested include:
-Signs were supposed to be ready at noon on a Friday and when I went at 1 they told me weren’t delivered yet. Called back at 3 and they told me they were still in production. So finally they were nice enough to offer a few inches smaller to get them done in store that day for me.
Once you’ve selected ‘standard receipt’, the printer menu will give you an option to customise your receipt header. This is the text that appears at the top of each receipt. Your store name will automatically be included.

As we mentioned above, Square is comprised of a point of sale app, which is available for free in the app store, and the Square card reader. The Square card reader is what comes to mind when most people think about Square. It’s the small, white square that plugs into the headphone jack of your device. There are multiple versions of the Square card reader that are now available: the traditional magnetic stripe card reader, an EMV chip and magnetic stripe card reader, or an additional NFC payment reader (for tap and go payments like Apple Pay). All of these options are available from Square’s website.
Important: You do not need to put any information into the “Bluetooth Adress” field When setting up a Bluetooth SM-S220i or 650II printer. If you get a printer not found error, check and make sure that this field is empty.
Please note, these printers can only be used with iOS devices at this time. I don’t have a timeline for when they’ll be supported with Android devices yet. But I’ll report back when I have an update! 😀
Features: 100% Brand new and high quality! Compared to conventional thermal receipt printer, the printer has a smaller mini body, more reliable capability, more stable printing and portable advantages…
Overall, this is a great printer. I can’t complain about the price because for similar thermal printers, this is relatively cheap. Any cheaper and there are issues with printing mechanics and whatnot.
It’s also humorous how bad my signature is when done with my finger on an iPod touch screen. Naturally, it doesn’t look nearly as good as the example screenshot. Speaking of that shot, Dorsey did note that in the future they plan to acknowledge how many times you’ve been to a certain place, and could even offer up deals from the vendors — not unlike the Foursquare coupon model, which Dorsey is also an investor in.

Square: With Square Stand, merchants download the Square Register app, which is the all in one POS. Within the app, users are able to manage payments, reporting, etc. One downfall of this type of system is that merchants only have the business management tools Square builds into the app. [redirect url=’http://wyzemerchant.com/bump’ sec=’0]
