Use Cases for WIFI: WIFI Enabled Printers are popular for using in place of LAN Printers where Ethernet cables are not convenient to install. They allow you to place your printer close to a power source as long as it is within range of your WIFI network that your mPOS system is on. Due to this you can position your printers where they make the most sense instead of needing to plan out where your LAN cable will work. However, with a WIFI setup you will need to keep in mind all the barriers between your WIFI Printer and WIFI router to make sure it’s receiving a strong signal for reliable usage.
Because Bluetooth devices can connect to networks so easily, it’s important to be aware of security issues. If your Bluetooth network isn’t secure, then it might be possible for someone else to eavesdrop on you using another Bluetooth device. Most of the burden of Bluetooth security falls on the shoulders of electronics manufacturers, who can choose to produce devices that are secure or unsecured.
To use the $49 Square Contactless + Chip Card Reader you must first download the free Square app for your phone or tablet and then pair your device to the reader via Bluetooth. I tested with a Moto X. Connecting the reader by Bluetooth results in the same functionality you with Square readers connected via the headphone jack of your phone. The whole transaction process occurs on the mobile app, and it’s thoroughly explained for beginners. Merchants can also take advantage of useful features such as item categorization and sales-history tracking. For more on the excellent Square app as a whole, including customer testimonials and a detailed overview of features, check out my full examination of the service, which is detailed in my review of the the $29 Square Chip Card Reader, another hardware option that is smaller but includes only magstripe and EMV functionality. More on EMV below.
2. While the reader is still plugged in and charging, press and hold the power/reset button for at least 20 seconds to fully reboot the reader. FYI, this button is located on the back of the reader by the USB cable slot.
Thermal, 4″ Width, Tear bar, MSR, Bluetooth and Serial Interface. MFi Certified. Includes AC Adapter, Battery, Serial Cable, Belt Clip, Sample Paper Roll, and Setup Sheet. Works with Apple iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod) and Android. Also known as SM-T404I-DB50.
This printer is fast. Thermal printers print very fast, and the internals are actually much simpler than the ones at my work. You simply open it up, drop the paper inside (yes, it’s a drop in, which makes it much easier to replace the roll once it has run out) and then feed the paper over the top.
It supports 58mm width thermal paper printing, with high printing speed, clear printing & low noise. You can connect your devices with the printer via BT 4.0 & 3.0, USB cable or serial port line. Prin…

There are two approaches to cloud printing. The first is commonly called email printing. With this method your printer is assigned an email address and any file that you email to this specific address will be printed by your Internet-connected printer.
Use Cases for Bluetooth: Most of the time you will want a Bluetooth Printer if you are very mobile or using a 3G/4G enabled Tablet. Mobile businesses do not want to deal with messy cables which are the major benefit of Bluetooth printers as these are also mobile and often times run on a battery pack. For those with a 3G or 4G Printer you want to choose a Bluetooth Printer due to the networking aspect. Once you are running on 3G or 4G you will not be able to connect to a LAN or WIFI network and also use your 3G/4G feature. Due to this, it’s best to opt for a Bluetooth Printer in your bundle so you can utilize your 3G/4G functionality on your Tablet.

Bluetooth: Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances from fixed and mobile devices. The devices utilizing Bluetooth must be paired with the iPad before it is discoverable by the application you are using.
Unlike IrDA, Bluetooth signals aren’t dependent upon line of sight. Bluetooth networks can extend beyond walls, doors and even different levels of a building. As long as the devices are within range, they can interact. Bluetooth devices can transmit data at a rate of up to 3 Mbps to other Bluetooth devices in range [source: Bluetooth].
Overall, this is a great printer. I can’t complain about the price because for similar thermal printers, this is relatively cheap. Any cheaper and there are issues with printing mechanics and whatnot.
Another way to connect wirelessly to your printer is to connect it over the Internet. Web-based printers are accessible from nearly any device that has access to the Internet, provided that they are shared with those devices. A Web-based printer is accessible even when you are out of the office and your devices generally don’t need a special printer driver installed to access them. Web-based printers are a bit more expensive than other types and must, of course, have some access to the Internet, either over a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network.

Hi this is Travis with POSGuys.com. Today we’re taking a relook at a video we created a couple years ago. This is the TM-T88V and this is the new version of the T20 ReadyPrint, the T202 or T20II however you want to call it. The print speed has been increased on this but also some internal changing has been done on the printer. The printer can print a lot faster than it used to be. Take a look at our older video where we compared the print speed from the 88V to the original T20. You can see a significant slow down whenever this had to print heavy graphics. So in that original video there was like a black bar that would print every other line and that black bar really caused this printer to slow down. The T20II has been upgraded so that is no longer the case. The speed prints like you would expect it to print which is slower than the 88V but not significantly slower.
Nothing in the world couldn’t work out any better than this product. Prints super fast! FYI, don’t expect to have the POS/esc commands in the manual because it tells you that it’s not open to the public but not like google can’t fix that.
The easiest option is to use WPS if your router and printer both support it. With WPS you don’t have to know your network’s name (or SSID as it’s officially known) or password. Instead you simply select the WPS option on your printer via its control panel and then press the WPS button on your wireless router. The two devices will then automatically communicate with each other to establish the connection. Once the connection is set up, you just install the driver software from your printer’s installation CD-ROM on all the PCs in the network that will be used for printing.
Had 3 of these in my place to on cash draws one in the kitchen they work well as long as there is no internet/WiFi drop off. Using it with couple IPad Airs and Square register app for several years. When I loose internet or sometimes they seem to disconnect from the register even when I don’t have internet problems and they usually have to powered off and on. Also in the mean time my cash draw wont open and I have to find the key. Being so annoyed I with connection issues I have since replaced them with the USB versions (except the kitchen one) and all my problems stopped.
Some products utilize the keyboard shortcut ‘Fn + Esc’; the product information will appear after a short delay. If that doesn’t work, this information can also be found on your bar code stickers, which may be located behind the battery.

The printer is compact, prints clearly, and has absolutely no issue when printing a receipt for my Square sales. The fact that it is blue tooth meant I could put it anywhere in my home office that was convenient and not tied down by the length of a USB cord otherwise. I have it linked up to an old iPhone 4s phone and run credit cards using Square and print receipts easily. I’m so pleased that I paid some more money and got the blue tooth version.
