I’ve had my chip/contactless reader for a few months now and it has been awesome. All of a sudden it won’t charge and it just flashes a red light from time to time when I try to charge it. Is this thing seriously dead after just 6 months of use? I charge it and run it on Tuesdays for a payment with a client, Wednesdays for one client and Saturdays for one client. So from a volume perspective I’ve not used it that much. Anyone have any ideas?
Purchased this item OCT 2014. Fast printing and compatible with Microsoft POS 2.0. It’s a reliable receipt printer that power on 16 hrs / day and 7 days / a week at my liquor store. I would buy it again if needed for my other business.

If you operate a mobile food cart or food truck, THIS is the receipt printer you want. In all Honesty, it took me more time to read through the manual than it did to connect to my Ipad. For the record, I am using this receipt printer with Square Register.

You could be sitting in an Internet café in Sydney, for example, and send some photos to your printer at home, so your family can see what you’ve been up to on your travels. Or you could be at your office a few miles from your house and print out your boarding pass for a flight you have to catch later, so it’s ready for you to pick up when you get home.
Recently, we’ve also seen the advent of cloud printing services. These services allow you to send documents and photos to your printer from anywhere in the world. So you can send a photo of New York you’ve just taken on your mobile to your printer back home, for example. And if your printer is ‘cloud ready’, it doesn’t need to be connected to a PC for cloud printing to work. As long as it’s turned on and connected to your Wi-Fi network, it’ll start printing once it’s received the data via the Internet. Kodak’s Hero 7.1 (pictured right) is just one example of a cloud-ready printer.

The second way to configure your printer is to use its wireless setup wizard. To use this you’ll need to know your Wi-Fi network’s name, as well as its password. The wizard will first perform a scan to find nearby networks. Then you select the name of your network from the list and enter its password. Once the password is entered correctly your printer should be available on your network. You’ll still have to install the driver software for your printer, however, on all the computers that are going to be used for printing. After that job is complete, you can start printing from anywhere in your home.
I spent years in jobs that included lots of cash handling. This cash drawer is the nicest I’ve seen. It’s solid build will last for years and its finish is just lovely. It triggers cleanly and the drawer all but shoots out when triggered. I’m very pleased.
As a bluetooth only device, it is a bit glitchy. If you are wanting to use it with a phone/tablet only as a standalone device, look elsewhere. The miura m010 reader works great for this, though is unfortunately not available on amazon.
Two other wireless technologies are Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Certified Wireless USB. The UWB approach requires devices to transmit information over a wide spectrum of radio frequencies using lower power transmissions. Several competing organizations are trying to establish UWB standards. With Certified Wireless USB, computers send data wirelessly through adapters that plug into USB ports on computers and other devices. Data rates are much higher with this approach, but the range of transmission isn’t as large [source: Bluetooth].
You can enable Google Cloud Printing on other printers by downloading the Google Chrome browser. Your printer will need to communicate to the cloud service via your PC, however, so your computer always needs to be on for the service to work with these non-cloud ready printers.

Worked right out of the box. No hassle. I purchased this one and another Esky model that was a real lemon. Accidentally sent one of several messages meant to address the Esky unit problem to the POS Megastore for this Epson. POS were quick to tell me their 30 day policy was up and to talk to the hand. No 60 day, no 90 day, 30. Beware– if you have any issues, address them early because after 30 days these guys are done with you.
I bought this as an upgrade to the square magstripe reader I had been using for a while. I was already familiar with the square app and functions, I just needed to integrate the new chip reader into my routine. I also purchased the charging dock based on reviews I read stating that the device turns off very often as a battery saving feature. The dock also seemed like it would improve overall ease of use.
