Secondary receipts can be used to set up kitchen or barista printing – where you may only want to print some transactions, and even some products within some transactions, to each of their printers. You can have more than one secondary receipt printer, and each can have its own tag settings.
This video, from http://www.beaglehardware.com, describes how to connect the approved printer and cash drawer to Square Register. With Square Register, you can print receipts for your customers at the counter. Connect to a cash drawer to make change for customers and store cash. The cash drawer will automatically open when connected to a supported receipt printer for every cash transaction and refund on your iPad or Android device.

Ethernet printers are devices that you won’t move around much. This is for people who are in a static location. You will have a local area network or LAN and you simply plug your printer into the LAN and power up the device. One model is the Star Micronics SM-S220i. It weighs about half a pound and the dimensions are 5.5 x 3.2 x 1.9 inches. It’s affordable and you can check the prices here.
Everything you need to get started taking in orders and money (except the iPad, Square Stand and the cash for the till!). This Square Stand accessories kit includes Square credit card reader (use it for making a smart phone mobile terminal), receipt printer with USB interface, 2 rolls of receipt paper, 16″ Square Stand cash drawer with till, and all cables for connecting the printer and Square Stand cash drawer.
For quick, high-volume receipt printing, a thermal receipt printer is usually a good choice, though hot environments, such as a food truck, might use an impact printer. The printer may be either wired (Ethernet) or wireless (Bluetooth) and you’ll need one per register.
This staples is consistently a disaster. The printers never print my documents on the first attempt, to which I then have to re-print and then wait in line again to receive a refund. I feel bad for the associates because they are apologizing for technological malfunctions that they don’t have much control over. One associate, Vincent, was really helpful today. I hope he is getting compensated well for his efforts.

If you are using your iPad or iPhone by itself with the Square app, you will not be able to use a USB Star Micronics Printer. You will need either a Bluetooth Receipt Printer, or Ethernet Receipt Printer. A good reason for going with Ethernet, is that you can have multiple devices print to one printer. If you are using an Android device, you can use either an Ethernet Receipt Printer, or and of the USB Receipt Printer stated above as long as you use the USB OTG(on the go) adapter. Please note, Bluetooth is not currently supported on Android for Square.
The customer service at any staples is always a bad experience but this one is exceptionally horrible. Half the employees are standing around doing nothing, have an attitude if you ask a question, and when they do answer they tell you the wrong thing or send you to the wrong part of the store.
A contemporary alternative to a traditional cash register or EPOS system, the mPOP offers a compact and sleek design with the ability to connect the mobile device of your choice – Apple, Android, Windows or Linux tablet or smartphone for simple Bluetooth pairing. The multiple functions and connectivity of the mPOP™ make processing customer transactions in retail and hospitality environments smooth and effortless.
Can ayone tell me if you can connect two printers to Square as well as a bank POS system? I have a coffee shop in Canada and we are looking at installing Square next month but would like to have a printer connected wirelessly to our kitchen as well as a receipt printer at our front counter. In addition to that I also need to have a bank pin pad and printer connected as Square does not accept debit in Canada (been waiting for that for a long time Square people!). Thanks.
If you want a small and easy to carry receipt printer, this may be it. It weighs less than half a pound. It is easy to carry around. For people who sell at craft shows, farmers markets and historical fairs this may be the receipt printer.
To use a kitchen printer with Square Stand you can connect the printer into the USB dongle on the Stand or you can use the Ethernet connection on the Wireless Router. Your choice of connection determines which printer you need to buy.
*Note: We have had some Sellers complain about the receipts printing over too many pages when they want it to only print on one. The trick is to reduce the scale of the image within your printing options until it fits. (see screenshot)
A secure counter clip is provided along with an optional 3rd party Kensington lock facility for maximum security. The optional under-counter mount kit option enables the mPOP to be positioned in a more secure environment if required.
Note that you may connect a barcode scanner via USB cable to the Square Stand, but if you are using an iPad without Square Stand, the barcode scanner must be a bluetooth barcode scanner. For more information on the correct bluetooth scanner to use when connecting directly to an iPad, click here.

I know this because I actually used Square today to buy myself and Dorsey coffee at Sightglass, which is already using the payment system. I made the purchase at 8:47 this morning and the receipt was immediately emailed to me in the form of a link to a Square page. On this page is a receipt featuring the logo of the vendor, their email address, and their Twitter handle. Below that, it shows the amount and the exact time of purchase. And below that is a Google Map of where the transaction was made and your signature.

To connect more than one iPhone/iPod touch to the one Ethernet printer, repeat these steps with each mobile device. If you’d like to use one iPhone/iPod touch with multiple printers, follow the same steps above for each printer.
The scanner is usually a hand scanner that includes a stand and a USB cord. However, the scanner may also be wireless, or even built into the register itself—with a POS like Clover Station, you scan items using the built-in front-facing camera on the register. Some scanners (like Clover’s) can also scan QR codes as well as UPC barcodes.
Yes. The paper is design for newer type of NETS terminal and it can fit into current or older NETS terminal as well as credit card terminal. It can be use for mPOP Integrated receipt printer and cash drawer or hand held printer SM-S220i as well.
Although Square only lists a few Honeywell and Zebra scanners as compatible with the Square Stand, we tested a number of USB interface Honeywell and Zebra scanners, and the majority worked with the Square Stand. The only scanners that did not work were older models, so we recommend using a scanner from within the past five years or so. Keep in mind, only USB interface Honeywell and Zebra (formerly Motorola/Symbol) scanners work with the Square Stand. If you have a specific model scanner and you’re unsure if it will work with the Square Stand, give us a call and we’d be happy to test it out.

The first thing to determine is what device you’re going to be using to run Square. The Square Stand is only for iPad, so if you’re thinking of using Square on a mobile phone or any Android device, the Square Stand isn’t for you. See our Square Reader Basics for iOS or Android for more information on using these. If you’ve decide to use Square on an iPad, choosing to use the Square Stand is mostly about the compatible hardware.
To answer your question more directly, not at this time. We only support a number of Star Micronics receipt printers at this time. Also, I fixed the link above, so you should be able to check out your options now.
