The printer is compact, prints clearly, and has absolutely no issue when printing a receipt for my Square sales. The fact that it is blue tooth meant I could put it anywhere in my home office that was convenient and not tied down by the length of a USB cord otherwise. I have it linked up to an old iPhone 4s phone and run credit cards using Square and print receipts easily. I’m so pleased that I paid some more money and got the blue tooth version.

So when i ordered, it was advertised with the Square thingy + card swipe adapter. It did come with both, in box that looks more like the apple company made it. The products itself looks from apple. Quality seems good, sturdy, I just like the feel I don’t have to worry of grabbing it too hard and break it.

Before you can print via Bluetooth you first have to setup an initial connection between your phone and printer using a process known as pairing. Usually this involves putting your printer into ‘Discovery Mode’ via its Bluetooth menu, and then starting a search for other Bluetooth devices on your phone. Once your phone finds the printer, you then have to enter a four-digit passcode to establish the connection.

Beware of this device! I have been using Square for years successfully (swiper unit plug in). I received this unit as a present, and was excited to try it out. I set it up at home, double checked that it was connected by bluetooth, and ran several successful practice charges. I took it to an art show this past weekend, and following the EXACT same instructions linked the reader to my phone via bluetooth. After inserting the customers card into the unit, after each and every sale my phone indicated “Transaction Complete”. I returned to the square menu and checked that the proper amount was listed for each transaction. I had just short of $2000 in credit/debit card sales. 3 days later when no money had transferred into my banking account I called square. Seems the contactless and chip card reader wasn’t properly synced with my phone (even though my phone indicated the reader WAS connected via bluetooth) and was not operating correctly. It didn’t capture a single complete credit card number. Im not sure if this reader works properly without also purchasing the charging dock. Im not the first person this has happened to. According to Square they are not responsible and Im on my own. 10 of 40 customers requested electronic receipts. Square reached out to them . As of today I have heard from 1 of the 10. I wish I had never used this reader. It’s fussy — and it doesn’t tell you when there is a problem with a transaction. I learned a hard lesson (which cost me just short of $2K. Never again.
I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The Square reader is super simple and easy to use. It is an especially good tool for small business owners who want to accept additional forms of payments(such as credit or debit cards) Additionally, the app on the google play store was easy to find and very straightforward. One downside, although somewhat expected are the fees associated with it. For example, 2.75 percent for credit card transactions. Other than that, I recommend this product for it’s simplicity and overall use. 4/5 stars.

Wireless technology has freed us from the tyranny of cables, allowing us to use our laptops, netbooks, smart phones and tablets pretty much anywhere we want, while remaining connected to the Internet. Over the last few years Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology has started appearing in printers too.
@usascottwright – While we don’t currently support Epson printers, it’s definitely a popular feature request. I’ll update this thread if that changes in the future! Also, apologies for the delay in following up with you.
If the IP address is in use, you will receive a response of the form “Reply from 192.168.1.192: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64." The numbers in this message may vary. If you receive a response in this format, repeat this step, increasing the final number by one each time (i.e. 192, 193, 194, etc.). When the response includes the text "timed out" or "Destination host unreachable," the IP address is most likely open. Take note of this open IP address. The second way to configure your printer is to use its wireless setup wizard. To use this you'll need to know your Wi-Fi network's name, as well as its password. The wizard will first perform a scan to find nearby networks. Then you select the name of your network from the list and enter its password. Once the password is entered correctly your printer should be available on your network. You'll still have to install the driver software for your printer, however, on all the computers that are going to be used for printing. After that job is complete, you can start printing from anywhere in your home. The advantage of this is that you can print from any mobile device that has email support, without having to install any extra driver software or apps.
