It’s been about three years since I excepted credit cards. The last device I used was pogo through provident bank. Which did not work out at all. The Device made an error and it was fixed but I lost $700 in the process due to processing fees but they refused to refund me. The problem is there’s too many hands involved and they have you on the phone going in circles. The evil leader being First Data they just kept eating money out of my account and I was helpless and could not stop it. So This left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. But after working for a few years I started to lose customers because I did not except credit card so I decided if square a chance. And I started taking credit cards. I have processed roughly $11,000 in three days for deposits on jobs and some payments. I was watching my account getting ready for to be deposited. After three days nothing. Did not realize that square tried to contact me because of the large amount of transactions and they put a hold on my account. I thought to myself here we go again. They requested a list of documents and proof of identity. I thought it would take weeks for them to process it. By 12 o’clock the next day they processed it and released the funds. That impressed me. And ever since it has been great. Money is quick about 12-24 hours. So give them a shot. They deserve it.

For the most part, Square with a reader is only compatible with wireless hardware, primarily Ethernet, Bluetooth, or WiFi devices. The Square Stand, however, includes a USB hub, which allows you to use USB interface hardware. USB hardware tends to be cheaper than wireless hardware. See a cost breakdown below:
How much does replacement paper rolls cost? Not much. You should be able to find 10 rolls for under $25. At times you can find deals for $1.50 per roll. Quality of the paper can vary. Some paper can be so thin that your customer can see through it. This should not be a problem as the paper is really just for one purpose which is providing receipt of purchase.
I don’t like that I can’t view another store’s inventory from the app. Very often, I find myself saying, “We don’t have that in-stock here, but I know it’s in-stock at our other location.” It’d be very helpful to be able to type in an item and view quantity in-stock for all locations. I also HATE that there are not “tickets” available anymore. I own a music store that offers instrument repairs and we also have special orders. For instrument repairs – the amount is variable depending on what needs done and I also notate the transaction with the instrument type, brand, serial number – what parts were used, and what was done under the “Quantity and Notes” section. I don’t want to have to look up that information and type into a transaction with the customer standing at the register. In the other app, I could do all of that when no one was in the store and save it as a ticket. Then when they come into the store, all I had to do was pull up the ticket and they were good to go. Same with special orders. I don’t want to add inventory into Square, assign it a price, add the SKU, put it into a category, set the quantity, etc., if I’m not going to STOCK the item. So for special orders, I like to just type in the information under “Custom Amount,” but I do like to notate the transaction under “Quantity and Notes” with the title and SKU so I can look back and see what it was. I don’t want to do that typing when a customer arrives, so I prefer to save it as a ticket. Now I can’t do that.
