If you accept credit card payments from your customers at your place of business, you’ll want a receipt printer. A receipt printer automatically prints a receipt for your customer when they make a purchase.

POS printers and accessories also give you the ability to provide a proof of purchase for each transaction. A printed receipt can greatly assist with returns or exchanges at a later date. To keep your printers printing, use high-quality POS paper.

Modern POS printers often feature speeds measured in inches per second, and these high-quality versions provide fast operation. They may also bear an indication of the mean time between failures, letting you know just how long you can expect the printer to provide excellent service and continued operation. These MTBF ratings can easily range into the hundreds of thousands of hours between service calls, delivering exceptional reliability.

At first glance, everyone is drawn in by Sqaure’s seemingly low price of $99, but for the whole set up (tablet w/ card swiper, cash drawer, and receipt printer) Clover actually comes out to be a few dolars cheaper. And what businesses can get by without the cash drawer and receipt printer?

Just wanted to update this thread with a solution I came across that could work for your multi-page print issue. When you are at your print preview page, there should be a Scale option available (it’s hiding under “More Settings” on Chrome/”More Details” on Safari or Firefox). Reducing the Scale below 100 will reduce the size of the image and you can keep lowering it until it reaches the size you’re looking for.

POS printers and accessories allow you to enhance the functionality of your existing point-of-sale hardware. These devices add the ability to display pricing to your customers or create a printed receipt for each transaction. This promotes solid customer service experiences.

Square offers a much more robust desktop application than PayPal Here. The Square Dashboard (see image on the right) is available as a web-based application for your desktop computer or as an iOS app. From the Square Dashboard, you can do detailed inventory management, track inventory stock, and set up low stock alerts. You can also edit your inventory in bulk, including uploading CSV files.

As you can see, the total hardware costs for using the Square Stand are less than using Square with a reader. Your particular costs may vary, depending on which hardware you need, as well as the type of stand you purchase if you decide against the Square Stand (there are both much cheaper and much more expensive stands than the $99 average we used to calculate total cost). Keep in mind that if you’re looking to use a cash drawer, you will most likely be using a receipt printer as well (see our note on cash drawers below).

It’s also humorous how bad my signature is when done with my finger on an iPod touch screen. Naturally, it doesn’t look nearly as good as the example screenshot. Speaking of that shot, Dorsey did note that in the future they plan to acknowledge how many times you’ve been to a certain place, and could even offer up deals from the vendors — unlike the Foursquare coupon model, which Dorsey is also an investor in.

The M10 and M30 are very similar form factors, this is set to top load, this is set to front load. In the top load version, your cover opens up, your paper just drops in. The printer can also be converted to the front load version. In the front load, your paper drops in like so.

The first thing to determine is what device you’re going to be using to run Square. The Square Stand is only for iPad, so if you’re thinking of using Square on a mobile phone or any Android device, the Square Stand isn’t for you. See our Square Reader Basics for iOS or Android for more information on using these. If you’ve decide to use Square on an iPad, choosing to use the Square Stand is mostly about the compatible hardware.

If my answer solved your problem, would you mind marking it as “Best Answer”? That’ll help the rest of the community find what they’re looking for. If not, just write back, and I’ll continue to help. Thanks!

To connect more than one iPhone/iPod touch to the one Ethernet printer, repeat these steps with each mobile device. If you’d like to use one iPhone/iPod touch with multiple printers, follow the same steps above for each printer.

The only aesthetic difference between square back binding and perfect binding is the two small staples. The finished squared-look is created after applying pressure to the spine. Square bindings lay flat, making it easier to stack, handle, and pack than saddle stitching. The pages are always secure, and you can print directly on the squared surface spine.

Square is officially compatible with certain APG and Star Micronics brand printer driven cash drawers. Printer driven cash drawers must be hooked up to a receipt printer that is compatible with Square in order to work properly.

Really great product. I would recommend this product to anyone that uses this size of spool. We switched over from other companies as this was a cheaper price. Saving money on things like this makes a difference over the long period. You would be surprised what a few dollars a case translates to over the course of a year.

When you buy a printer you need to make sure it works with Square. You should carefully review the information that Square has provided in their website. Here is the link that describes what you need if you’re using an iPad. https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5084-supported-hardware-for-ipads Be sure to shop around. Because some of this equipment can get expensive. There may be cheaper places to shop online. Generally, there are two types of printers: Ethernet printers and Bluetooth. We’ll describe both below.

I am sure that this has been asked and answered, but the search feature on this communities site is not very robust and the information I’ve been able to gather from square/communities is not entirely clear. So I am asking again (maybe).

We’ve already had a number of posts about Square, the new mobile payment platform launched by Twitter creator Jack Dorsey today, but we’re going to keep posting on it, because it’s just that good. Most of the earlier stories covering the launch of Square included a screenshot of an example receipt that is displayed on Square’s site right now. The actual receipt doesn’t quite look like that, but it’s close.

I would love this, it does work great with my square stand. However, they never sent me a key to access my register if the power goes out, or for any other reason. They sent me out multiple keys and they wouldn’t work, and then i couldn’t get a hold of them any more. So i still do not have a register that works properly, and if there are any issues I am going to have to hire a lock smith on top of the cost of this.

Android systems have the option of using USB devices or Ethernet (LAN) devices, but with some limitation. Direct connecton to a USB device requires an OTG (On-The-Go) adaptor and may limit you to only one connected device. Another option is to use Ethernet (LAN) or Bluetooth connected printer and a cash drawer that connects to your printer. First see if your Android device is supported by Square, then carefully follow the list of supported hardware for Android devices.

Secondary receipts can be used to set up kitchen or barista printing – where you may only want to print some transactions, and even some products within some transactions, to each of their printers. You can have more than one secondary receipt printer, and each can have its own tag settings.

Square has a specific Online Store feature, with multiple options for store set up. You can set up a basic online store through Square, set up a website through Square’s partners, or use Square’s APIs to accept payments directly from your previously existing online store (which requires custom programming).
