A contactless smart card is a card in which the chip communicates with the card reader through an induction technology similar to that of an RFID (at data rates of 106 to 848 kbit/s). These cards require only close proximity to an antenna to complete a transaction. They are often used when transactions must be processed quickly or hands-free, such as on mass transit systems, where a smart card can be used without even removing it from a wallet.
Just wanted to update this thread with a solution I came across that could work for your multi-page print issue. When you are at your print preview page, there should be a Scale option available (it’s hiding under “More Settings” on Chrome/”More Details” on Safari or Firefox). Reducing the Scale below 100 will reduce the size of the image and you can keep lowering it until it reaches the size you’re looking for.

I am new to Square. I would like to print receipts from my iPad, but the printers on the Square web site cost over $300. I found that I could print a receipt from the web-based customer portal if I am using my PC or Mac. However, the receipt prints on two pages since there is a small icon at the bottom that carries over to the second page. I will have to carefully set the printer to print just one page every time I print a receipt for our event.
Small in size, the Square Trade contactless reader fits into a pocket or bag for easy transport. Unlike a traditional desktop credit card machine, this reader is lightweight enough to take with you to trade shows and other events so you can take payments where ever you are.

EMS says it’s been in the payment business for decades. If you hadn’t heard of the company before, you might now, given that it offers a mobile credit card processing system with a 2.25 percent swipe rate and a manual keyed rate of 3.5 percent plus $0.15 transaction charge. Plus, there is 24-hour telephone support, and optional Bluetooth printer for paper receipts, and no increased swipe costs for business or reward cards.
Set up is pretty much straightforward. You download the app (Squre Register-POS), you’ll need your Business Account // Personal Account along with routing number. Zip Code, name, address, social security and what not. Pretty much what a bank would ask you. Once your account is linked, it will ask you if you want them to send you their product or if you already got it. I thought the product was going to be sent for free, but it was charging me another $50, so i wanted to cancel and it didn’t give me that option. I still have to check with customer service about that. In the meanwhile i just put “charge me later” or something along the lines.

I suspect a network card issue and will investigate firmware upgrades. However, as a multi-year multi-product Epson user, many less expensive than this receipt printer — this level of flawed software development is inexplicable. I do understand that this is oft-intended as a POS device.
If you operate a mobile food cart or food truck, THIS is the receipt printer you want. In all Honesty, it took me more time to read through the manual than it did to connect to my Ipad. For the record, I am using this receipt printer with Square Register.
Unlike IrDA, Bluetooth signals aren’t dependent upon line of sight. Bluetooth networks can extend beyond walls, doors and even different levels of a building. As long as the devices are within range, they can interact. Bluetooth devices can transmit data at a rate of up to 3 Mbps to other Bluetooth devices in range [source: Bluetooth].
This printer comes with a disk. If you are using it with an Ipad, the disk is useless. The only thing I am disappointed with at this point is that I can not print by business logo on my receipts. This is not a downfall of the printer but the program that I am using. This printer prints the business logo ‘”IF” you are using a Mac or Windows based POS system.

Wireless technology has freed us from the tyranny of cables, allowing us to use our laptops, netbooks, smart phones and tablets pretty much anywhere we want, while remaining connected to the Internet. Over the last few years Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology has started appearing in printers too.
The printer is fine but bluetooth connectivity has been an incredible challenge. We have probably wasted 20 hours wrestling with it in the few weeks we have had it. The Starprint utility can say it is not connected when it is … and vice versa. The Bluetooth says it is not connected yet we can print a receipt from the register. The delay communicating via bluetooth means we have to leave a key in teh till drawer rather than wait for it to eventually open even though we have adjusted the utility and timing. So, while the printer is fine, don’t go bluetooth because you can’t use a cable even if you want to as there’s no socket …. just bluetooth ! So, buy a cable printer version and be happier !
The growing popularity of smart phones and tablets has meant that more and more of us want to be able to print directly from our mobile devices, rather than having to sync photos and files with a PC when we want to produce hard copies. Thankfully, printer manufacturers have cottoned on to this and now all the major brands have produced their own free smart phone and tablet printing apps.
