The Ethernet printers compatible with Square Point of Sale are thermal printers. They require heat-sensitive paper and won’t work with non-thermal receipt paper. These types of printers aren’t ideal for kitchens or high-temperature working areas.

Android systems have the option of using USB devices or Ethernet (LAN) devices, but with some limitation. Direct connecton to a USB device requires an OTG (On-The-Go) adaptor and may limit you to only one connected device. Another option is to use Ethernet (LAN) or Bluetooth connected printer and a cash drawer that connects to your printer. First see if your Android device is supported by Square, then carefully follow the list of supported hardware for Android devices.

Square systems are primarily compatible with Ethernet or Bluetooth interface printers (depending on the tablet you are using, Android tablets with USB ports and USB On-The-Go or USB Host mode can use USB interface printers). The compatible printers for Square systems are as follows:

September 30, 2016 • Android Receipt Printer • Mobile Bluetooth Receipt Printer • Refurbished Thermal Printer • Square Compatible Receipt Printer • Square Hardware Bundle • Square Kitchen Order Printer • Square Stand Printer

To set up a Square account, there is an online form to fill out on their website. Square does not require credit check to set up an account, and there’s no contract or subscription required (although Square does offer a separate subscription-based app, Square for Retail).

In addition to cost, most of the USB hardware for the Square Stand is plug and play, meaning you just plug it into the USB hub and the hardware is ready to go. You don’t have to configure the hardware on your network or set up a Bluetooth connection the way you need to for wireless hardware.

Wonderful, helpful, considerate, competent, efficient, respectful, caring and pleasant staff at the print center. Jennifer and Samsara went out of their way to help with my printing order and to accommodate me with a discount coupon I had temporarily misplaced. Many thanks for the excellent help, courtesy and great professionalism! My favorite Staples store!

Have not purchased this printer, but wanted to let people know that this is not the only printer that will work with Square. I have two Star Micronics printers, one Ethernet and one Bluetooth and both work fine with the Square app for iPad. I also have Ethernet based cash drawers that connect through the printers and those works just as well. This probably has the easiest set up, but it is not the only way.

At the heart of the whole Square system is the software. There’s so much you can do with it you’ll wonder how you ever survived with your dumb cash register. The Square register app provides you with a whole ton of reports and dashboards so you can track transaction activity, manage orders, check out daily summaries and a lot more. In addition to reports you can manage your back office, upload your inventory and personalize your receipts. Plus, when you use Square you get all of this software functionality for free, you pay a flat 2.75% on all your credit card transactions that you swipe through the stand, and that’s it.

A small in the city Staples that covers your basic needs.  Don’t come here looking for five thousand choice to pick through but the have more than the basic covered.  Surprisingly they have a large selection of Moleskine products which is two thumbs up in my book.   [redirect url=’http://wyzemerchant.com/bump’ sec=’0]
