Square is pretty popular for Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) so it’s no big surprise that you can also use the system with a kitchen printer. It takes a little more to get it all set up, because you’re going to need to plug the kitchen printer directly into your wireless router, but once you do, its easy to send an order back to the kitchen. No walking, no running, no yelling, just tap print. Easy right? The other thing about a printer is that it’s designed to be in the kitchen, its built for the heat and the humidity. Whatever abuse your kitchen has to dish out, don’t worry this printer can take it.

Wonderful, helpful, considerate, competent, efficient, respectful, caring and pleasant staff at the print center. Jennifer and Samsara went out of their way to help with my printing order and to accommodate me with a discount coupon I had temporarily misplaced. Many thanks for the excellent help, courtesy and great professionalism! My favorite Staples store!

The SM S220i is a handheld portable printer, which is great for mobile stores. Alternatively, the 650 series is a countertop alternative, which is great for stores with a fixed power supply, but no ethernet.

Square: With Square Stand, merchants download the Square Register app, which is the all in one POS. Within the app, users are able to manage payments, reporting, etc. One downfall of this type of system is that merchants only have the business management tools Square builds into the app.
To enable printing from your receipt printer, once your printer is connected, under Settings > Printers, tap your connected receipt printer and make sure “Receipts, Bills, and Reports” (under Print From This Device) is toggled on.
Please keep in mind that mobile Bluetooth printers (such as the SM-S220i or SM-T300i) cannot connect with printer driven cash drawers. Mobile printers can only be used with manual cash drawers. In addition, manual cash drawers will always work with any iPad set up.
** If you are using the Square Register app, this is the USB version of the Star TSP654II Printer and must be used with the Square Stand Hardware. You will need a Star ethernet or bluetooth printer if you are using Square or a similar Point of Sale app with the tablet or device by itself.
Only Star Micronics TSP650, TSP650II, TSP100 and SP700 Printers with ETHERNET or BLUETOOTH Connection are compatible with the Square Up App using a standalone tablet or phone. If you are using the Square Stand Hardware, you can use either the Ethernet, Bluetooth or USB version of these printers.
Square has the option to process payments offline. In order for Square to offer the option to process payments offline, they accept no responsibility for any declined payments taken while offline. PayPal Here does not have an offline option to process payments. It is unlikely that PayPal Here will add this option in the future, as PayPal does not want to be liable for declined payments.
Most POS systems also allow you the option of sourcing most or some of the POS hardware yourself. You may be able to find the hardware you need at a cheaper price if you go through an outside vendor. However, if you go this route, you will need to pay careful attention to make sure the hardware is compatible.
quick question! i was checking out a customer who purchased a printer with squaretrade and i mentioned that he didn’t need to do anything else with it, because he was a rewards members and it registers automatically with his account. my IA overheard me and corrected me saying that customers DO still have to either call or register their plans online for them to be in effect. which is true? when I first got to staples i was told it’s automatically registered if they’re rewards members so I always assumed so, are there exceptions based on different types of plans or anything?

To begin, we have been using Square for almost 4 years. Over that time we have integrated square more and more into our business. We are happy to report that this has been a great decision. The app is always being updated and keeps getting the features that we ask for. All you have to do is email or call and tell their customer service department what features you really want to see in the future. Then sure enough in a month or two the very thing you asked for is added in or has some beginning resemblance of what you had asked for. Do not be deterred by the negative reviews. Most of them are people who have decided that the review section for the app is the best wY to ask a question to the support staff. Or they may be engaged in some kind of shady business that is prohibited by square.
Can ayone tell me if you can connect two printers to Square as well as a bank POS system? I have a coffee shop in Canada and we are looking at installing Square next month but would like to have a printer connected wirelessly to our kitchen as well as a receipt printer at our front counter. In addition to that I also need to have a bank pin pad and printer connected as Square does not accept debit in Canada (been waiting for that for a long time Square people!). Thanks.
