The ShippingPass assortment is continually being optimized. Products are added and removed for lots of reasons, but the main reason is to show items that we’re 100% sure we can deliver within the promised timeline.

In addition, there are a number of Bluetooth barcode scanners that can work with Square with limited functionality. These scanners can scan barcodes and look up products by SKU or product name, but they do not automatically add products to the current order. Bluetooth barcode scanners we tested include:
Square is pretty popular for Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) so it’s no big surprise that you can also use the system with a kitchen printer. It takes a little more to get it all set up, because you’re going to need to plug the kitchen printer directly into your wireless router, but once you do, its easy to send an order back to the kitchen. No walking, no running, no yelling, just tap print. Easy right? The other thing about a kitchen printer is that it’s designed to be in the kitchen, its built for the heat and the humidity. Whatever abuse your kitchen has to dish out, don’t worry this printer can take it.
A second thing to keep in is the Square Stand is not exclusively compatible with USB hardware; it’s also compatible with all of the same wireless hardware as Square with a reader. If you’re interested in using the Square Stand and also want wireless hardware, either to future-proof your business or for more mobility, that’s an option you can consider (although the Square Stand may be a bit excessive, see below for other stand options). This also means you can add on wireless hardware to your Square Stand in addition to your USB hardware, like an Ethernet kitchen printer or Bluetooth barcode scanner.
Within both apps, you can add or change items in your inventory. Entering item information is straightforward, and you can edit item name, cost, barcode or SKU, tax, and more. Both apps allow you to add and sort items into categories (such as “Drinks”, “Desserts”, or “Sandwiches”). They both offer the option to add item variations to products (such as different sizes or colors), as well as add modifiers to products, such as different condiments, flavors, etc. These item modifiers and variations can be used in a variety of ways. For instance, if you sell coffee, you can set up variations for each size of coffee you offer and modifiers for add-ons to the coffee, such as add soy milk or vanilla flavor. Below is an example of the same transaction in Square and PayPal Here, with multiple variations and product modifiers (click images to expand).

We recommend using the Square contactless and chip reader for a fast, seamless payment experience on all devices – not just those without a headphone jack. To accept magstripe-only cards, or gift cards, we recommend using the Apple Lightning to Headphone Jack adapter (included with the iPhone 7) to connect your Square magstripe reader. You might also try a third party USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter, but please note that Square has not officially tested compatibility between the magstripe reader and other third party adapters.
STAR MICRONICS RECEIPT PRINTER – Integrates easily with Square POS. designed with an advanced power management circuitry which allows any user to reduce his printer current consumption by up to 75% compared to standard Star printers. I spent years in jobs that included lots of cash handling. This cash drawer is the nicest I’ve seen. It’s solid build will last for years and its finish is just lovely. It triggers cleanly and the drawer all but shoots out when triggered. I’m very pleased.
A cash drawer must be connected to a receipt printer to open automatically. Otherwise, you’ll need to manually open the drawer using the cash drawer key. To link your cash drawer to the Square app on your iPad, you can connect it to a supported receipt printer that has a peripheral drive connector using an interface cable. Most receipt printers, except mobile bluetooth printers, generally have a peripheral drive connector.
You may plug a receipt printer into one of the three USB ports found on the Square Stand accessories hub, but kitchen printers are typically located some distance away from your checkout register – farther away than a USB cable will reach.
Thanks @Sean, it really is a bummer you guys are so limited on the type of printers you support. We are on the fence on using the POS for Square because our type of business uses regual paper receipts, we need it due to the fact that not only do we sell goods but install them as well so we need more room for more detail as well as “Terms of Service.”
Square systems are primarily compatible with Ethernet or Bluetooth interface printers (depending on the tablet you are using, Android tablets with USB ports and USB On-The-Go or USB Host mode can use USB interface printers). The compatible printers for Square systems are as follows:
The customer service at any staples is always a bad experience but this one is exceptionally horrible. Half the employees are standing around doing nothing, have an attitude if you ask a question, and when they do answer they tell you the wrong thing or send you to the wrong part of the store.

Some systems, like Clover, require that you use their proprietary hardware. Clover’s hardware is custom-built for POS, and combines multiple functions in one piece of hardware (for example, the scanner is built into the register). Be very careful about buying this type of equipment from a third party, as there are a lot of scams out there.
I own a deli and this system has been amazing! I set it up myself and I’m not tech savvy at all… Not just that but all the girls and I learned to use it the first hour. Very simply, straight to the point and does everything you need!

If you need a remote Kitchen Impact Order Printer, the Star SP742ML or SP742ME will work for all applications. It is a Dot Matrix Receipt Printer and uses a ribbon, so you can print on carbon copy paper rolls, or standard single ply :
Hi @JoanneCFYF — thanks for bringing this up and sorry to hear about the frustration this is causing. It looks like another seller had the same question, and received an answer. Check out this thread by Kelly. Hope that helps for now.

If you’re considering using a stand other than the Square Stand, there are a number of stands available, ranging in price and quality. There are very basic stands (a quick search of Amazon or BestBuy will pull up any number of iPad stands available for less than $40) that serve to hold your iPad, but do little else. For point of sale, you may want to consider an iPad stand that pivots or rotates, in order to face both you and the customer, as well as a stand that locks (either to the iPad, to the counter, or both). On the more basic end of these, we recommend the Heckler Design Windfall, or for a more professional looking point of sale station, the POS-X iSAPPOS stand.
