Square is a simple, but powerful (and free!) POS app available for iOS and android. Featuring a seamless checkout experience, inventory, sales reports and analytics Square is a great choice for merchants big and small. Take card payments with Square’s reader for a flat rate of 1.75% per transaction, including Amex.
We do not deliver on Sundays, but do sometimes deliver on Saturday depending on the carrier that is delivering your order. The best way to determine the date of delivery is to check the status in My Account .
Ideally, your card reader will be EMV-compliant, meaning it accepts chip-card payments, and will accept contactless NFC payments (mobile payments) as well. Many credit card terminals also print receipts.
Navigating within the app, you can either scroll through your list of items, search by SKU/barcode, or enter a custom amount to charge a customer. Square also has an easy access Item Grid (only available on tablets) that displays 25 item categories or frequently sold products, which are customizable and rearrangeable. PayPal Here has a similar Top Selling Items category for easy access to these items.
Square is officially compatible with certain APG and Star Micronics brand printer driven cash drawers. Printer driven cash drawers must be hooked up to a receipt printer that is compatible with Square in order to work properly.
That’s it. You should now be able to print from Square to your receipt printer. You can run a test print as well as enable/disable receipts/order tickets. Anyone within the business that uses Square (whether they use Android or iOS) should be able to print to that same printer. This avoids everyone having to purchase separate printers.
You are eligible for a full refund if no ShippingPass-eligible have been placed. You cannot receive a refund if you have placed a ShippingPass-eligible order. In this case, the Customer Care team will remove your account from auto-renewal to ensure you are not charged for an additional year and you can continue to use the subscription until the end of your subscription term.
Another model, also by Star, is the Star Micronics, TSP143L WHT US. This is bigger than the Star Micronics SM-S220i. It is about 3.5 pounds. There is an auto cutter that slice through your receipt so that you don’t have to rip it off the machine by hand.

Hello – we’re always looking at expanding the printers that work with our system. We’re currently able to support a number of Star Micronics receipt printers. You can find a complete list of compatible printers on our Support Center.
To begin, we have been using Square for almost 4 years. Over that time we have integrated square more and more into our business. We are happy to report that this has been a great decision. The app is always being updated and keeps getting the features that we ask for. All you have to do is email or call and tell their customer service department what features you really want to see in the future. Then sure enough in a month or two the very thing you asked for is added in or has some beginning resemblance of what you had asked for. Do not be deterred by the negative reviews. Most of them are people who have decided that the review section for the app is the best wY to ask a question to the support staff. Or they may be engaged in some kind of shady business that is prohibited by square.
Supported Bluetooth receipt printers are ideal for iPad receipt printing on the go or in casual environments where you don’t have access to an Ethernet port. The following Bluetooth printers are compatible with the Square Register app on the iPad:
Hi, Travis from POSGuys.com. Today we’ll be reviewing the M series of printers from Epson. This is the TM-M30 and the TM-M10 receipt printers. They’re both thermal receipt printers, they’re similar form factor where they’re very square. This is the 3-inch version, this is the 2-inch version. By 3-inch version, this means this uses standard receipt printer of 3 inch width, and this uses a 2 inch, smaller receipt paper. They’re both top load or front load, this is set into front-load version, this is set in to top-load version. They print at a reasonable rate, this is an 8-inch per second, and this is a 6-inch per second. The 8-inch per second is the same as the current model TM-T20ii version, so it’s the same print speed, it’s just a much more compact form factor.
As one of the most popular mPOS solutions for the iPad, Square can be found across all types of businesses. Like any point of sale system, you need a way to provide a printed receipt for your customers. These Square receipt printers are already approved to work with your Square system out of the box.
Square is pretty popular for Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) so it’s no big surprise that you can also use the system with a kitchen printer. It takes a little more to get it all set up, because you’re going to need to plug the kitchen printer directly into your wireless router, but once you do, its easy to send an order back to the kitchen. No walking, no running, no yelling, just tap print. Easy right? The other thing about a kitchen printer is that it’s designed to be in the kitchen, its built for the heat and the humidity. Whatever abuse your kitchen has to dish out, don’t worry this printer can take it.
Square offers an open ticket option, which allows you to start a transaction and put it on hold while you ring up other transactions. These open tickets are accessible across all synced devices, making Square more friendly to restaurants and bars, where open tickets may be necessary (as well as accessible across multiple devices). Square can also do split tender payments. PayPal Here does not have the option to keep open tickets or split tender payments.
Android systems have the option of using USB devices or Ethernet (LAN) devices, but with some limitation. Direct connecton to a USB device requires an OTG (On-The-Go) adaptor and may limit you to only one connected device. Another option is to use Ethernet (LAN) or Bluetooth connected printer and a cash drawer that connects to your printer. First see if your Android device is supported by Square, then carefully follow the list of supported hardware for Android devices.
NOT FOR USE WITH SQUARE STAND! If using a Square Stand consider the Square Stand Starter kit which has a printer that plugs into the stand. The printer in this kit must be plugged into your router.

For the most part, Square with a reader is only compatible with wireless hardware, primarily Ethernet, Bluetooth, or WiFi devices. The Square Stand, however, includes a USB hub, which allows you to use USB interface hardware. USB hardware tends to be cheaper than wireless hardware. See a cost breakdown below:
Hi @McNabbGames — I went ahead and combined your thread with another seller’s who had a similar question. I can assure you that we’re always looking into more affordable hardware options for our sellers. As for the technical explanation, from my limited understanding (I’m not an engineer), each printer manufacturer has a specific driver for their hardware, and since manufacturers don’t build printer drivers for Square Register, we would have to build one for each printer model – which is something we don’t have the bandwidth to do.
Clover: With Clover Station, merchants are able to access the Clover App Market, which allows merchants to download the specific business management apps they need. This app market is the same idea as the Apple App Store, where Apple and third party developers can build apps, which allows for more app diversity, as well as some that are free and some that must be paid for. One downfall of this type of system is that app quality can differ based on the developer. [redirect url=’http://wyzemerchant.com/bump’ sec=’0]
